EFX ART & DESIGN A wonderful publication from Sweden dedicated to artistic creation on desktop computers. It seems they have suspended publication, but back issues are still valuable for computer artists.

RES MAGAZINE A magazine dedicated to digital filmmaking and video with the use of desktop editing, compositing, and effects software, from an artistic perspective. Also, producers of the RES Fest digital film festival.

DV MAGAZINE Another magazine for desktop video, with a more technical bent. Numerous articles on sound, editing, and motion graphics, along with great tutorials

SOFTWARE

ADOBE One of the top producers of software tools for digital artists. Among their software titles are Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, GoLive, Premiere, and Pagemaker

SYNTHETIK The makers of Studio Artist, the new-kid-on-the-block in digital painting software. A serious contender.

COREL Their recently acquired Painter software is still a must have. Bryce is also a lot of fun, and a great entry-level 3D software that can produce professional results with some serious persistence.
